Precision Machined PFA Components for High Purity Applications

Accumatics manufactures precision-machined PFA components for OEM high-purity, chemical handling, valve, and fluid control applications.

Our experience includes machining PFA components where chemical resistance, purity, surface quality, dimensional consistency, and reliable fluid handling performance are critical.

Custom PFA Machining

PFA (perfluoroalkoxy alkane) combines the exceptional chemical resistance associated with fluoropolymers with properties that make it well suited for demanding high-purity and corrosive fluid-handling environments.

For OEMs designing high-purity fluid systems, material selection is only part of the equation. Consistent machining, material control, dimensional repeatability, surface quality, inspection, and traceability can all be critical to the performance of the finished component.

PFA for High-Purity Fluid Handling

PFA is widely used in high-purity and chemically aggressive fluid systems because of its combination of chemical resistance, purity, temperature capability, and low contamination characteristics. These properties make PFA particularly well suited for components used in applications such as:

  • Semiconductor processing equipment

  • High-purity chemical delivery systems

  • Chemical processing equipment

  • Laboratory and analytical equipment

  • Pharmaceutical processing systems

  • Fluid and gas handling equipment

  • Valve and flow-control systems

  • Corrosive chemical environments

Examples of PFA Machined Parts

PFA is commonly used in high-performance applications such as:

  • Ferrules

  • Fittings

  • Valve components

  • Seats

  • Seals

  • Bushings

  • Sleeves

  • Washers

  • Insulators

  • Spacers

  • Fluid handling components

  • Custom precision-machined parts

PFA Grades & Material Options

Accumatics works with customer-specified PFA materials from leading fluoropolymer manufacturers.

Depending on availability and customer requirements, PFA materials may include grades from Chemours, Daikin, and other established fluoropolymer manufacturers.

Common PFA families used in high-performance applications include materials such as:

Chemours Teflon™ PFA 340, 350, 440, 450 and high-purity grades

Daikin Neoflon™ PFA grades

Different PFA grades can vary in characteristics such as melt flow, molecular weight, mechanical properties, purity, and processing behavior.

For machined components, these differences can influence dimensional stability, surface finish, mechanical performance, and machining characteristics.

Accumatics works to customer material specifications and can assist customers in evaluating the machining considerations associated with a specified PFA grade.
